LAHORE: PTI Internal Backlash has increased as Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf faces serious internal differences over its leadership and future direction.
The controversy mainly revolves around General Secretary Salman Akram Raja. Some party leaders have questioned his performance and leadership role.
According to party sources, Salman Akram Raja assured critics that he would ask party founder Imran Khan to relieve him from his position. He reportedly said this would allow him to return focus to his legal career.
The PTI Internal Backlash reflects a growing trust crisis within the party. Many leaders believe the current strategy is not helping the party recover from its political challenges.
Some party members even demanded Raja’s resignation. They said he failed to provide strong political leadership during the difficult time.
Sources also said Raja has support from Aleema Khan, sister of Imran Khan. However, critics believe his legal-focused approach cannot solve the party’s political problems.
Despite these claims, PTI spokesperson Sheikh Waqas Akram rejected reports of major internal conflict. He said only a few individuals had differences, and the leadership was united under Imran Khan’s guidance.
Another senior PTI leader admitted that some dissatisfaction exists within the party. However, he said Raja is loyal and his sacrifices should be respected.
The PTI Internal Backlash also includes disagreements over the party’s strategy. Some leaders want to continue resistance, while others prefer political dialogue.
Party leaders are also concerned about new ideas like forming separate youth groups. They fear such moves could create further divisions.
Some members expressed concern that loyal leaders who made sacrifices feel ignored. They believe party decisions should not be influenced by social media pressure.
Political observers say PTI Internal Backlash shows the party is facing a difficult phase. The coming decisions by the leadership may shape its political future.
