£190 million case; Imran Khan and Bushra Bibi indicted

Islamabad: Imran Khan, the founder of Pakistan Tehrik-e-Insaaf (PTI), and his spouse Bushra Bibi have been charged in the 190 million pound Al-Qadir Trust case. The accountability court judge read the charge sheet in Khan and Bushra’s presence in the courtroom.

Bushra Bibi and Imran Khan both rejected the accusations made against them. 5 prosecution witnesses called for in the next hearing. The Court called five witnesses in the case for the next hearing and postponed the hearing until March 6.

According to the Al Qadir Trust case, PTI leader Imran Khan and his spouse allegedly received land valued at hundreds of kanals and billions of rupees from a real estate company in exchange for legalizing Rs50 billion that the UK had discovered and repatriated to the nation during the previous PTI administration.

National Accountability Bureau (NAB) Deputy Prosecutor Sardar Muzaffar Abbasi, along with his team, also appeared in the court. During the hearing today, the court said that statements of 58 witnesses will be recorded in the case.
