190 million pound case: Decision to hear appeals of Imran and Bushra

ISLAMABAD: The Islamabad High Court has fixed the central appeals filed by PTI founder Imran Khan and Bushra Bibi for hearing on May 7. The Islamabad High Court has also issued a reserved decision.

The court ruled that since the central appeals in the 190 million pound case are being scheduled for hearing, the applications related to suspension of sentence have become ineffective. On this basis, the court disposed of the applications for suspension of sentence of founder PTI and Bushra Bibi.

In the 190 million pound NAB case, founder PTI and Bushra Bibi have approached the Islamabad High Court against the sentence. Both had filed applications for suspension of sentence along with central appeals.

Following the Islamabad High Court’s decision, the main hearing of the case will now be on the central appeals, which will review the petitions filed against the conviction. The court will hear the appeals on May 7.

According to legal experts, the scheduling of the central appeals for hearing is a significant development in the case, as the court will now directly review the points raised against the conviction.
