Brig (retd) Dr Muhammad Khan quits PML-N for Jamaat-e-Islami

MUZAFFARABAD: The Pakistan Muslim League (N) suffered a major political setback in the important constituency of Azad Kashmir, Central Bagh, as Brigadier (retd) Dr. Muhammad Khan joined Jamaat-e-Islami along with his colleagues.

According to reports, with the consent of the former Ameer of Jamaat-e-Islami Azad Kashmir, former member of the assembly, and former chairman of the Public Accounts Committee, Abdul Rashid Turabi, and mutual consultation of the party leadership, it has been decided to nominate Brigadier (retd) Dr. Muhammad Khan as the candidate of Jamaat-e-Islami this time.

On the other hand, senior Muslim League (N) leader, former government minister, and former member of the assembly Raja Muhammad Yasin Khan has also announced his support for Brigadier (retd) Dr. Muhammad Khan and Jamaat-e-Islami.

After this development, the Pakistan Muslim League (N) nominated candidate Raja Mushtaq Ahmed Minhas is being described as a big setback in the electoral arena, while a new debate has begun on the political situation of the constituency.

A reception ceremony was held in honor of Brigadier (retd) Raja Muhammad Khan, Raja Yasin, Saeed Inqilabi, and others for joining Jamaat-e-Islami Azad Kashmir after saying goodbye to the Muslim League (N) at Jamaat-e-Islami Khanna headquarters in Islamabad.

In the ceremony, Deputy Ameer Jamaat-e-Islami Pakistan Liaquat Baloch, Ameer Jamaat-e-Islami Azad Kashmir Dr. Mushtaq Ahmed, former Ameer Abdul Rashid Turabi, and others welcomed the workers who joined the party and garlanded them.

A large number of Jamaat-e-Islami workers also attended the ceremony and welcomed the new workers.

The central leadership said that it is grateful to Nisar Ahmed Shaiq, who resigned from the membership of the PML-N executive council, for convincing his colleagues to join Jamaat-e-Islami Azad, Kashmir.
