Court cancels all arrest warrants as Aleema Khan appears in protest case

RAWALPINDI: Aleema Khan, the sister of PTI founder Imran Khan, appeared in court after being issued 11 non-bailable arrest warrants.

The court ordered Aleema Khan to appear on a future date and ended all warrants and property confiscation proceedings against the government.

Anti-Terrorism Court Judge Amjad Ali Shah heard the protest case. When the judge began the hearing of the case, Aleema Khan challenged Section 7 of the ATA, which is included in the case, and filed a petition to declare it illegal.

In addition, Aleema Khan also filed a petition to cancel all arrest warrants issued against her and restore frozen bank accounts.

The court accepted the petition to cancel 7 ATA for hearing, issued a notice to the public prosecutor and called for arguments on November 26.

The public prosecutor opposed the cancellation of the warrants and restoration of bank accounts, however, the court ordered Aleema Khan to appear on a future date, canceled all the warrants issued and also summoned all five witnesses for the next hearing.

It is worth noting that a case has been registered against Aleema Khan at Sadiqabad police station regarding the November 26 protest, in which she is accused of inciting workers to violently protest, arson and interference in government affairs.
