Court to hear Imran Khan, Bushra's review pleas tomorrow in £190m reference

ISLAMABAD: The Islamabad High Court (IHC) has fixed tomorrow (April 30) the appeals filed by former Prime Minister Imran Khan and his wife Bushra Bibi against their convictions in the £190 million corruption reference.

A division bench comprising Chief Justice Sardar Muhammad Sarfraz Dogar and Justice Muhammad Asif will hear the appeals on Thursday, according to a supplementary cause list issued by the Registrar’s Office. Both the appeals challenge sentences of more than seven years under the Pakistan Penal Code. The cause list said that various petitions, including applications for suspension of sentence along with objections, are pending in the court.

The development comes a day after the same bench, while hearing separate applications for suspension of sentence in the £190 million corruption reference, outlined a systematic timeline for completing arguments in the main appeals.
