ISLAMABAD: A shocking act of brutality was witnessed at PIMS Hospital when a senior doctor, allegedly, physically assaulted a trainee doctor within the institution.
Details reveal that the victim, Dr. Ibrahim, has filed a written complaint at Karachi Company Police Station, requesting registration of a case.
Trainee Doctor’s Statement
In his complaint, Dr. Ibrahim said that he came to the burn center on duty when a guard halted him on the orders of the senior doctor Abdul Khaliq. Shortly later, Dr. Abdul Khaliq and his colleagues purportedly assaulted him.
He further said that the senior doctor also destroyed his mobile phone while beating him. Dr. Ibrahim also alleged that he was locked in a room for two hours after being beaten.
Alleged Threats and Call for Action
The trainee doctor stated that Dr. Abdul Khaliq also threatened to dismiss him from his job and even kill him if he brought the issue to their notice.
He has called for prompt action against the senior doctor.
