Death toll rise to eight in Noshki oil tanker explosion

Fuel tanker fire in Nigeria kills 147 lives, 50 injured

QUETTA: The total number of deaths has reached eight in Noshki’s oil tanker explosion, as five more injured succumbed to their injuries on Saturday at Karachi Private hospital, according to media reports.

According to rescue officials, the five individuals were among the 24 seriously injured who were shifted to Karachi through an air ambulance.

The dead bodies of five deceased, identified as Salman, Wazir Ahmed, Abdul Basit, Dur Muhammad, and Mustafa, have been shifted to the Sohrab Goth mortuary, officials said.

Other seriously injured persons are still under treatment in the hospital in Karachi, the official added.

Earlier, an oil tanker caught fire in the Noshki district of Balochistan on Monday.

The oil tanker was parked at the depot when the incident occurred, The tanker exploded as the firefighters attempted to extinguish the blaze, leaving several individuals caught in the flames, according to Noshki Deputy Commissioner Amjad Soomro

Four police officials also caught fire as they were helping other people evacuate the place of fire. Many of them are critically injured as 70 to 80 percent of their body are burned amid the explosion, and they are being airlifted to Quetta for advanced treatment.
