DG Excise sets Feb 28 deadline for motorcycle M-Tags in Islamabad

ISLAMABAD: The second phase of the motorcycle M-tag campaign is underway to make the federal capital Islamabad safe.

DG Excise Irfan Memon has set the last date for affixing M-tags on motorcycles as February 28. He clarified that action will be taken against motorcycles without M-tags from March 1 and such motorcycles will be transferred to the relevant police stations.

For the convenience of citizens, all M-tag centers will remain open on Sundays as well, DG Excise

According to the DG Excise, motorcycles without M-tags will not be allowed to be driven in Islamabad after March 1. He said that more than 2,000 motorcycles have been issued M-tags so far during the second phase.

For the convenience of citizens, M-tag centers are being kept open even on holidays, while additional staff have also been deployed so that people do not face any kind of problem.

Irfan Memon has appealed to citizens to get the M-tags installed on their motorcycles before the due date and support the government’s efforts to make the city safer.

Officials say that this move will not only improve security but also help in preventing crime.
