RAWALPINDI: Director General Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) Lieutenant General Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry has said that three major terrorist incidents recently took place in Balochistan, during which innocent lives were targeted by what he termed “Fitna-ul-Hindustan.”
Addressing a press briefing, the military spokesperson said that militants were targeting innocent civilians in Balochistan and carrying out attacks aimed at destabilizing the province.
He said one of the attacks targeted a police checkpost in Ziarat, where security forces launched an operation against the assailants.
According to the DG ISPR, security forces killed 15 terrorists during the operation in Ziarat. However, he said that after being cornered, the militants martyred 18 police personnel.
The military spokesperson further stated that terrorists had also kidnapped children during the course of their activities, describing the incidents as acts of brutality against innocent civilians.
Providing an overall assessment of the recent operations, Lt Gen Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry said that a total of 42 security personnel embraced martyrdom in the three separate operations conducted in Balochistan.
He added that India is behind all these terror incidents in Balochistan.
