ISLAMABAD (ABN News): Senior political analyst and former federal minister Muhammad Ali Durrani has said that visible differences are emerging among the ruling coalition, and growing public dissatisfaction is a sign of deeper cracks within the government.
Speaking on ABN News’ program Tajzia, Durrani noted that PML-N leader Nawaz Sharif speaks less but chooses his words carefully after thorough consideration. “Nawaz Sharif is brave and wise—he fights battles strategically,” Durrani remarked. “He took politics raised under martial law to the level of a two-thirds majority.”
Highlighting growing concerns, Durrani said the Ministry of Foreign Affairs is currently the most unstable area in the government. He added that Nawaz Sharif feels the party’s already-declining political future has been deliberately blocked.
“A deeply unpopular government cannot survive for long,” Durrani warned. “Instead of delivering on promises, the government has made life miserable for the public. Political workers faced brutalities, and the sanctity of private homes was violated. People from Lahore, Karachi, and even farmers are now turning to Rawalpindi to seek justice.”
Durrani went on to say that if the Prime Minister holds no real power, he should resign. He accused the government and establishment of intentionally creating public unrest. “The May 9 cases were misused to target opponents—victims were turned into the accused.”
He further cautioned that brotherhood has been replaced by dangerous levels of hatred. “Stepping back requires wisdom; moving forward demands courage,” Durrani said, urging leaders to adopt the example of reconciliation set by the Conquest of Makkah. “The only real solutions lie in wisdom and foresight,” he concluded.
