PESHAWAR: The District Administration Peshawar has imposed an immediate ban on the flights of drones and quadcopters within the district under Section 144 of the Criminal Procedure Code (CrPC).
The decision has been taken to maintain law and order in the entire area, avoid any untoward incident and reduce the chances of panic, chaos and mayhem arising from the flights of drones and quadcopters in the district.
It said that action will be taken against anyone found violating the ban under Section 188 of the Pakistan Penal Code (PPC).
The ban will come into effect immediately and will remain in force for one month (30 days) unless it is amended or withdrawn.
Since the Indian drone aggression began on Wednesday night, the Pakistan Army has shot down at least 77 Indian drones.
Last week, the Pakistani military shot down two Indian surveillance quadcopters along the Line of Control (LoC).
Tensions between India and Pakistan have escalated sharply following a series of incidents that began with a deadly attack on April 22 in Pahalgam, located in Indian-administered Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK), which left 26 people dead, mostly tourists.
India has blamed Pakistan-based groups for the incident, while Pakistan has denied the claims.
