CM Sindh announces amnesty for prisoners

KARACHI: In honor of Eid-ul-Adha, the Sindh government has declared an amnesty, providing major relief to convicts throughout the province.

Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah has declared a 120-day brief amnesty for inmates. This amnesty will only be applicable to general convicts. Convicts involved in murder, terrorism, rape, kidnapping, or financial corruption would not be eligible for amnesty, said the Sindh’s chief minister.

Murad Ali Shah further stated that this special amnesty does not include death row inmates, as well as people guilty of drugs, , espionage, and financial irregularities.

The Sindh Home Department has issued a notification for a 120-day amnesty for inmates, according to the Chief Minister’s spokesperson on Friday.

Earlier, In light to enjoy the Eid-ul-Adha holidays with family,  Islamabad district administration has ordered to designate Lake View Park and Daman-e-Koh as family-only parks during the three days of Eid Al-Adha.

Only families will be allowed entry to the parks on all three days of Eid, according to notification issued by the authorities.
