RAWALPINDI: Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) Director General Lt Gen Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry has said Indian strikes have resulted in the death of eight Pakistanis and 35 injured so far.
Addressing a press conference, the military spokesperson stated that a total of 24 impacts have been reported by India, with different weapons, in six cities.
“Based on initial damage assessment, in these six localities, eight Pakistanis have been killed, 35 have been injured, and two are missing,” he maintained.
He further said that the Indian forces targeted civilian areas, including mosques and healthcare facilities.
DG ISPR added that a mosque, Masjid-e-Abbas, was destroyed in Kotli, and another mosque in Muridke was hit, resulting in the death of one person and injury to another.
In Sialkot, he added, a shell landed in the village of Kotli Loharan, while in Shakargarh, a local dispensary was damaged in the Indian strike.
These attacks are clear acts of aggression against civilian infrastructure, said the military spokesperson.
General Sharif also announced that members of the national and international media would be taken to the affected areas during the day so that they might witness firsthand what he described as “India’s blatant aggression”.
