KARACHI: The port city zoo’s one and only elephant, Madhubala who is currently 16 years old has been transferred to Safari Park, Four Paws ( International Animal Welfare Organization) announced on Tuesday.
The relocation of the last remaining solitary elephant is finally done, and Madhubala has now joined the two elephants, Sonia and Malika, after some fifteen years in the Safari park.
Earlier, Four Paws announced that the training for Madhubala entry and exit out of the container has been completed with success. Today the carriage carrying the elephant was lifted by a carne.
Primary assistance was provided for better and safer relocation procedures during the transport of the elephant, including briefings to clear the roads.
This means that the three elephants will now live in the Safari Park. As pointed out, Madhubala is one of the four African elephants treated in Karachi by an eight-member international team establishment of Four Paws in 2022.
Four Paws has a worthy vision-the relocation of elephants who need it. It has been able to relocate Kaavan, most popularly known as the “world’s loneliest elephant,” from Islamabad to Cambodia in 2020.
Madhubala rescue has marked another achievement for the organization and another step in the right direction towards the welfare and well-being of this majestic creature.
