Field Marshal reiterates Zero Tolerance for Terrorism during Peshawar Visit

PESHAWAR: Chief of Army Staff (COAS) Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir on Saturday visited Corps Headquarters Peshawar, where he was given a detailed briefing on the current security situation and ongoing counter-terrorism operations in the region.

During the visit, the Army Chief offered the funeral prayers of the martyrs of the recent terrorist attack in Bannu Garrison and met the injured personnel undergoing treatment at CMH Bannu. He paid his heartfelt tributes to the martyred soldiers and appreciated the unwavering spirit and dedication of the Pakistan Armed Forces in the fight against terrorism.

In a strong statement, COAS Munir condemned the Indian-backed militant group, Fitna-ul-Kharij, and praised the valor of the security forces for effectively neutralizing such threats. Reiterating the nation’s firm resolve to root out terrorism, he declared, “The blood of innocent Pakistanis will not go in vain,” and promised decisive retaliation against all elements trying to destabilize the country.

He further vowed that all terrorists, as well as those who support or facilitate them, would be relentlessly pursued and brought to justice. Emphasizing a zero-tolerance policy, he asserted that Pakistan’s war against terrorism would continue until every threat was eliminated.

The Army Chief also stressed the importance of enhancing the capabilities of civilian law enforcement agencies, especially the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Police. He urged government institutions to prioritize institutional development and assured that the Pakistan Army would continue to support these efforts.

General Munir was received by Corps Commander Peshawar upon his arrival. This visit reflects the military leadership’s strong commitment to ensuring national security and supporting civilian institutions in the broader counterterrorism campaign.
