Global recognition for Pakistan as PM Shehbaz invited to join proposed Gaza peace board

ISLAMABAD: US President Donald Trump’s proposed administrative and diplomatic measures, such as the GPP (Gaza Peace Plan) and the Peace Board / Board of Peace under it, are under discussion for the end of the war in Gaza and Palestine.

In the same vein, President Trump has sent invitations to heads of various countries to become part of this proposed Peace Board and participate in joint efforts towards stability, aid access, restoration of basic facilities, and a long-term political solution after the ceasefire. The Prime Minister of Pakistan has also received an invitation to join this proposed board.

This news is not only very positive and prestigious but also a successful diplomatic development. The Prime Minister of Pakistan receiving an invitation to such a global platform is a sign that Pakistan’s international reputation, diplomatic weight, and trust have increased.

This success is the result of consistent state diplomacy, timely coordination, and effective strategy in line with national interests, which includes coordinated efforts of civil diplomacy as well as military diplomacy.

Pakistan is seen as a responsible, mature, and solution-oriented party.

Pakistan’s participation or positive response is not based on the politics of any camp, but on practical support for alleviating the suffering of the atrocities inflicted on the Palestinian people, especially the innocent and defenseless civilians of Gaza, and for a just, lasting solution.

Pakistan has always supported the Palestinian right to self-determination, protection of civilians, an immediate ceasefire, unhindered humanitarian assistance, and reconstruction.

In this context, this invitation provides an opportunity for Pakistan to go beyond mere rhetoric and play a practical role, raise an effective voice for ending the humanitarian crisis at international forums, and incorporate its principled position in decisions that directly affect the lives of Palestinians.

The participation of the Government of Pakistan/Prime Minister in this important board provides an opportunity to walk hand in hand with the Muslim Ummah and fulfill a common humanitarian and Islamic responsibility.

We are neither spectators nor silent on the issue of Palestine, but as a responsible state, we want to play our role in helping the oppressed, showing humanitarian sympathy, and a political solution based on justice.

Analysts also raise the point that the presence of Pakistan in international mechanisms gives an opportunity to influence important results, so that decisions are not unilateral, Palestinian interests are protected, relief and rehabilitation measures remain transparent and fair, and the coordinated position with Muslim countries is strong.

Overall, this invitation is an honor, trus,t and responsibility for Pakistan, and Pakistan will mold it into a positive role for the greater cause of humanity, Umma,h and justice.
