ISLAMABAD: The Interior Minister, Mohsin Naqvi, during a tour to the National Police Academy (NPA), said that to boost the morale of police officers, it is necessary to increase their salaries.
The interior minister pointed out that one of the governmental measures to tackle police personnel’s financial woes was to boost their salaries. “I want every police official’s salary to be raised so that they can take home respectable pay,” he said.
The minister provided the necessary directions to NPA Commandant Muhammad Idrees and toured the conference hall, dining hall, and main areas of the academy, as well as the inspection facilities.
Accompanying the Assistant Superintendents of Police (ASPs) who are receiving training, Naqvi declared that officers would receive residential plots upon their successful completion of training.
Moreover, he talked about the current batch going to Beijing, China, for a one-month professional training program that would enable them to acquire new skills and increase their knowledge.
In addition, he reassured that the police would be given modern facilities in partnership with the National Police Foundation, and he would not allow complaints regarding police promotions to die.
Earlier, the NPA commandant reported on administrative and training issues to the minister. Present at the occasion were the deputy commandant of the academy, the additional deputy commissioner of Islamabad, and other senior officials.
