KARACHI: After an agreement between the government and the Goods Transporters Association in Karachi, a consensus has been reached, leading to the end of the nationwide strike.
Addressing a press conference at the Ghulbai Truck Stand, Association President Malik Shehzad announced that the government had accepted all demands put forward by the transporters, prompting the decision to call off the strike.
Malik Shehzad Awan stated that transporters had been protesting for the past 10 days, which caused severe difficulties for industries across the country due to disruptions in the supply of raw materials.
During the strike, the supply chain was badly affected, resulting in stalled business activities and negative impacts on the national economy.
The president of the Goods Transporters Association emphasized that the government listened seriously to the legitimate demands of the transporters during negotiations and assured their immediate resolution.
He confirmed that all association members would now resume transportation operations as normal.
