Govt appoints Ayesha Humaira secretary

ISLAMABAD: The federal government has appointed Ayesha Humera Secretary of the Ministry of IT & Telecom secretary for three months.

The federal government has appointed Ayesha Humera Ch., a BS-21 officer of the Secretariat Group currently serving as Additional Secretary at the Ministry of Information Technology and Telecommunication, as the Acting Secretary of the Ministry of IT & Telecom.

This decision was communicated in a notification from the Establishment Division on Thursday. She will hold this position for three months or until a permanent appointee is assigned, whichever comes first.

This follows the Prime Minister’s removal of Captain (Retired) Muhammad Mehmood from the position of Secretary MoITT two days ago.

On the other hand, the federal government also issued a notification for the appointment of Ambreen Jan as the new Secretary of Information and Broadcasting.

“Ms. Ambreen Jan, a BS-21 officer of Information Group, presently posted as Executive Director General, External Publicity (EP) Wing, Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, is transferred and posted as Secretary, Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, under Section 10 of the Civil Servants Act, 1971, with immediate effect and until further orders,” reads the notification.

Jan has replaced her predecessor Shahira Shahid, who retired from the post a day earlier on July 25.
