Govt set to send 8 Lakh Pakistanis aboard for employment in 2026

Italy announces over 1000 jobs for Pakistanis

ISLAMABAD: The federal government has set a target of sending 800,000 Pakistanis abroad for employment by 2026, a significant increase from the nearly 740,000 who got jobs abroad last year.

During a meeting with a delegation from the Korangi Association of Trade and Industry (KATI), Federal Minister for Overseas Pakistanis and Human Resource Development Chaudhry Salik Hussain said that the global demand for Pakistani manpower is continuously increasing, especially in the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries and other international markets.

He said that the government is introducing soft skills training programs in collaboration with Korea and Japan, which aim to align the skills of the Pakistani manpower with the requirements of the global labor market and increase their international competitiveness.

Chaudhry Salik Hussain announced a major policy change for women seeking employment abroad, saying that the minimum age limit for women has been reduced from 35 years to 25 years, which will create more employment opportunities for women.

According to the federal minister, skilled Pakistanis working abroad are not only playing an important role in the country’s economy but are also significantly increasing the foreign exchange reserves. He gave an example and said that an average Pakistani worker working in Korea sends $1,800 in remittances per month.
