Hajj 2026: Passports Offices to remain open on weekend

ISLAMABAD: The Ministry of Religious Affairs has written to the Director General, Passports, to request that passport offices remain open today and tomorrow in the wake of this urgent matter.

According to sources, an emergency has been declared at the Ministry of Religious Affairs, and the leave of relevant staff has been canceled as welfare staff performing Hajj duties have yet to get their passports.

The letter, which was written upon request, said the passports of welfare staff must be uploaded to the Musar app on December 21 for deployment to Saudi Arabia.

Therefore, to meet the Saudi deadline, the Ministry of Religious Affairs has asked for a withdrawal of weekly holidays at passport offices. It is recommended that the passports of 268 mission members be issued forthwith.
