Honour, power not achieved through division but through hard work: CDF Asim Munir

RAWALPINDI: Chief of Army Staff and Chief of Defence Forces, Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, on Wednesday, addressed the National Ulema Mashaikh Conference, highlighting Pakistan’s historical, religious, and strategic significance.

CDF Field Marshal Asim Munir said that the State of Islam and the State of Pakistan have a deep and historic relationship.

He said that Allah Almighty had given Pakistan the honour of being the guardians of the two holy mosques, and this distinction was given to the nation against all Muslim nations.

He warned that a nation that abandons knowledge and learning risks chaos and disorder.

“Honour and power are not achieved through division, but through hard work and knowledge,” he said. On security and counter-terrorism, he said terrorism is not Pakistan’s practice but India’s.

He added that in an Islamic state, only the state has the right to declare jihad. He reflected on the recent conflicts and said, “The Marka-e-Haq was won with the help of Allah.”

He also encouraged scholars to work in a manner that will unify the nation and achieve development, as seen by the people. Earlier, PM Shehbaz Sharif also spoke to the National Ulema Mashaikh Conference.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, through his tweet, has lauded the armed forces of Pakistan for their role in securing the success under the leadership of CDF Field Marshal Asim Munir.

He further added that the Khawarij continue to martyr innocent Pakistanis. “The Pakistan Armed Forces, under the command of CDF Field Marshal Asim Munir, have registered a great victory,” he said. Further, PM Shahbaz Sharif said Pakistan was heading toward rapid development, and for the development of a country, it was important to eliminate terrorism.
