ISLAMABAD: A photo of Imran Khan doing push-ups in the prison compound has divided public opinion. The photo apparently shows Khan exercising in the courtyard of Adiala Jail, but doubts remain due to the mismatched uniforms of the guards, unusual shadows and the strangely crooked structure of the fence. Social media suggests that the photo may have been created using artificial intelligence (AI).
One user wrote that the photo came shortly after a United Nations expert warned on December 7, 2023, about his solitary confinement, health problems such as back pain and weight loss, and limited outdoor time at the age of 72.
Authorities say he is receiving proper care and is fit, while his supporters see it as proof of his steadfastness during his detention on a number of politically motivated charges since August 2023. Neither his party nor the government have confirmed the photo.
