Independence Day Ad blunder: Information Ministry omits Jinnah's picture

ISLAMABAD: A controversy has erupted after the Pakistani government removed the image of the country’s founder and father of the nation, Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah, from its official Independence Day advertisement.

The advertisement instead featured images of current office-bearers, drawing criticism on social media.

Senator Mushahid Hussain Syed expressed his displeasure on X (formerly Twitter), calling the mistake “disrespectful”. He said the advertisement “shows only those occupying temporary seats, all of whom owe their lives to the struggle and sacrifices of the Quaid.”
