ISLAMABAD (Rizwan Abbasi): Pakistan has voiced strong concerns over the ongoing grave human rights violations in Gaza and Indian-occupied Kashmir, questioning the international community’s silence on these atrocities.
During a weekly media briefing, Foreign Office Spokesperson Mumtaz Zahra Baloch condemned the recent Israeli attack on the Al-Mawasi safe zone in Gaza, which claimed the lives of 40 Palestinians.
She termed the attack a blatant violation of international laws and human rights, stating that unarmed Palestinians are being subjected to brutal violence. Pakistan has called for immediate action by the United Nations against Israel.
The spokesperson also condemned the Delhi High Court’s ban on political parties in Indian-occupied Kashmir, asserting that these parties were advocating for the rights of the Kashmiri people. Pakistan urged the global community to take immediate notice of the ongoing violations in the region.
In her remarks, Baloch emphasized the significance of the 33rd Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) meeting of trade ministers held in Islamabad, highlighting Pakistan’s role in promoting regional stability and maritime security, a point recognized during the recent visit of the International Maritime Organization’s Secretary-General.
Reiterating its unwavering support for the Palestinian and Kashmiri people, Pakistan called for a united global response to the oppression in both regions. The spokesperson further stressed Pakistan’s commitment to peace and development in the region, viewing SAARC as a critical platform for fostering stability in South Asia.
