ISLAMABAD: The Islamabad Traffic Police (ITP) has developed a detailed traffic diversion plan on Sunday, May 10, 2026, to commemorate the first anniversary of “Marka-e-Haq”.
As per the advisory released by the ITP on Saturday, several key roads in the capital city will be closed from 6 pm to 12 midnight, and alternative routes will be recommended to facilitate hassle-free traffic movement.
It is informed by the traffic police that the Srinagar Highway from Korianwala Chowk to Peshawar Mor will be closed on both sides at the specified time. Likewise, the Islamabad Expressway from Faizabad to Khayaban Chowk would be blocked from traffic in the direction of Faisal Avenue.
Citizens driving from Islamabad to Rawalpindi and vice versa, as well as those moving to Murree, Bhara Kahu, and the Motorway, have been urged to opt for alternate roads such as 9th Avenue, Colonel Sher Khan Road (IJP Road), Murree Road, and Jinnah Avenue.
For traffic arriving from Rawalpindi to the Islamabad sector, diversion roads would be provided. Besides, traffic from the Motorway towards the Red Zone would be diverted from Peshawar Mor to Margalla Road.
According to the advisory, all Light Transport Vehicles (LTVs) would be diverted from Rawat T-Cross to Rawalpindi from 5 pm.
Furthermore, access by heavy transport vehicles (HTVs) to Islamabad will be totally prohibited between 4 am and 12 midnight.
The citizens have been advised to abide by the traffic regulations issued and cooperate with the law-enforcement agencies to prevent themselves from any trouble during the festivities.
