Islamabad Police share Traffic Plan for Muharram 9, 10

ISLAMABAD: Islamabad Police shared the security and traffic management plan for the 9th Muharram procession in the federal capital, here on Monday.

As per the details, the main procession will start from Mian Imam Bargah at G/6-2, will return to its starting point following its designated route.

Fazal Haq Road will be closed for traffic from Polyclinic to Kulsoom Plaza to facilitate the procession. Commuters have been asked to use Jinnah Avenue from Kulsoom Plaza to China Chowk.

Seventh Avenue will also remain closed on both sides from Daman Koh Chowk to Chand Tara Chowk Blue Area Outloop and Seventh Avenue Chowk to Suhrawardy.

Alternative routes include Urban Alternate Road, Jinnah Avenue, Suhrawardy Road, and Margalla Road. Saddar Road will remain closed on both sides between Iqbal Hall and Melody Chowk. Abpara Suhrawardy Road can be used as an alternative.

The municipal road from Lal Masjid to Shahada Chowk and GPO Chowk will remain closed on both sides, Shaheed Millat Road has been suggested as an alternative route. Luqman Hakeem Road will remain closed from Polyclinic to Iqbal Hall, Jinnah Avenue is available as an alternative route.

Traffic police will be deployed at key points to guide passengers and ensure smooth flow of traffic. They urged the citizens to cooperate during the procession and use alternative routes.
