Ahead of opposition protests, the Federal Government on Thursday announced the implementation of Section 144 across Islamabad for the next three days, avoiding any public gatherings.
The Government introduced these measures with potential terrorist threats. Capital City management issued warnings against any violation, focusing that any negligence will be faced with strict penalties.
Similarly, the Punjab Home Department declared that Section 144 will be operational from July 26 to July 28.
Islamabad police have also shared a traffic plan for the federal capital for today due to the closure of main roads and junctions.
Citizens are instructed to use the Rawalpindi Sadar route if Rawat T Chowk is closed. If Peshawar GT Road will close, commuters can use the motorway as an alternate route.
If the Srinagar Highway from G14 is closed, citizens should use Peshawar Road, GT Road, and Colonel Sher Khan (IJP) Road.
If Faizabad is inaccessible from the Islamabad Expressway, traffic coming from Rawalpidni can use Khanna Bridge, Lehtrar Road, Captain Tufail Shaheed Road, and Park Road as an alternative.
Commuters traveling from Rawalpindi can take 9th Avenue in case Faizabad on Murree Road is closed. In case, Zero-Point is closed commuters can use Faisal Avenue and Jinnah Avenue. If Serena Chowk is closed use 7 Avenue and for Embassy Road closure use Shaheed Millat Road, China Chowk underpass, and F-6.
