QUETTA: Senior Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl (JUI-F) leader and former senator Maulana Abdul Ghafoor Haideri has been admitted to a hospital in Quetta after his health deteriorated due to heart-related complications.
According to sources, Haideri was shifted to the hospital late at night, where doctors conducted a medical examination and placed him under observation.
This is not the first time the veteran politician has been hospitalised for cardiac issues. Earlier this year, in February, he was admitted to a hospital after suffering a heart attack and received treatment before being discharged.
Maulana Abdul Ghafoor Haideri serves as the central secretary general of JUI-F and is considered one of the party’s senior-most leaders. He has played an active role in national politics for decades and previously served as the Deputy Chairman of the Senate.
Hospital sources said doctors are closely monitoring his condition. However, no detailed medical update regarding his health has been released so far.
