ISLAMABAD: Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam (JUI) leader Hafiz Hamdullah says he has no intention of getting married again, but if he gets angry and has to break the law, he will marry a 16-year-old girl.
Speaking outside the Parliament House in Islamabad, Hafiz Hamdullah said that he advises JUI chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman to organize mass weddings in all four provinces upon his return from a foreign tour.
He said that mass weddings should be for young people who have reached adulthood and are below the age of 18.
Hafiz Hamdullah said that we will trample the law under our feet because we will not accept any law that is against the Quran and Sunnah, this is the Islamic Republic of Pakistan.
He said that it is in the constitution that no legislation will be made against the Quran and Sunnah.
Hafiz Hamdullah further said that Article 6 should be imposed on those who have rebelled against the constitution by sitting in parliament, Maulana Sahib is doing everything according to the constitution.
He said that although I am not in the mood for a second marriage, if I get angry, I will also marry a 16-year-old girl.
