PESHAWAR: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Muhammad Sohail Khan Afridi has written a formal letter to Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz expressing serious concern over the alleged obstacles in meetings with Imran Khan in Adiala Jail.
The letter has taken the position that it is unacceptable to stop meetings with former Prime Minister Imran Khan despite court orders.
Chief Minister Sohail Khan Afridi alleged in the letter that Imran Khan’s family, including his sisters, were mistreated and elderly women were made to sit on the road outside the jail, which he termed as contrary to human and moral values.
He has presented four urgent demands to the Punjab Chief Minister in the letter, including immediate implementation of court orders, action against the misbehaving officials, issuing clear instructions to the jail and police administration, and establishment of a dignified and legal system for meetings.
Sohail Afridi says that Imran Khan is a former prime minister and PTI leader on whose mandate the KP government is based.
The Chief Minister has demanded that the Punjab government take immediate action on this matter to ensure the protection of the fundamental rights of the political leadership and citizens.
