KP govt approves jobs for martyrs family, widows

PESHAWAR: The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa cabinet approved the recruitment of the widows and children of martyrs under the Shuhada (Martyrs) Policy.

Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Sohail Afridi chaired a meeting of the provincial cabinet in which important matters were approved.

The provincial cabinet approved the recruitment of a martyr’s widow and children under the Martyrs Policy, besides the funds for the liver transplant treatment and the draft of the Witness Protection Laws.

The KP cabinet also approved the formation of a committee to prevent harassment of women at the workplace and prize money for the winning team of the Shandur Polo Festival.

The Chief Minister outlined the policy guidelines of his government during this meeting and thanked all political parties that took part in the Peace Jirga held yesterday.

While addressing the gathering, KP Chief Minister said that political differences have their place, but peace is our common goal, and all resolutions of the provincial assembly will be fully implemented.

He said that they are formulating a policy to make Khyber Pakhtunkhwa interest-free, as making the province free from interest-based practices is one of the top priorities of his government.

He further said that they will follow the policy of zero tolerance against corruption, and no one will be allowed to use government funds for personal publicity. All actions and reforms by the government will be made in consultation with the elected representatives.
