MUZAFFARABAD: Former Azad Kashmir government minister and elected member of the assembly from LA-1 Dadial constituency, Chaudhry Azhar Sadiq, has officially joined the Pakistan Muslim League (N).
This is being termed a major political development during the election campaign in Azad Kashmir as the party leadership has also issued him an election ticket.
Chaudhry Azhar Sadiq’s joining was formally announced during a ceremony, in which Federal Minister for Kashmir Affairs Engineer Amir Muqam attended as a special guest.
The ceremony was attended by PML-N Azad Kashmir Secretary General Chaudhry Tariq Farooq, former senior minister and former interior minister of Azad Kashmir Colonel (retd) Waqar Ahmed Noor, Barrister Iftikhar Gilani, Dr. Najeeb Naqi and other central and local leaders of the party.
PML-N leaders welcomed Chaudhry Azhar Sadiq and expressed the hope that his joining would further strengthen the party in future political activities and the electoral arena.
Political observers are also calling Chaudhry Azhar Sadiq’s joining the Muslim League (N) a significant development in the current political situation in Azad Kashmir, which could have significant impacts on the upcoming elections.
