Lahore tops the air pollution charts once again

LAHORE: In a tragic move, Provincial capital tops the air pollution charts once again becoming world most polluted city for the third time with the highest recorded Air Quality Index (AQI) at 298.

Despite the Punjab governments efforts to curb the smog in the province, the region is still grappling with severe air pollution which is still soaring to an alarming level affecting people’s health as well as causing disruption in daily life activities.

Earlier, the Punjab Senior Minister Marriyum Aurangzeb announce that the government has placed 30 new air quality monitors throughout the province to have a check and balance on the air pollution levels.

According to AFP reports, Air pollution level in Lahore once soared to more than 80 times over the level deemed acceptable by the World Health Organization (WHO).

Currently, as the day passes the Air Quality Index has dropped to 181 whereas it is described as Unhealthy.
