Bahawalnagar: SHO accused of raping woman, case registered

LAHORE: A 70-year-old woman was allegedly subjected to sexual assault and robbery by two unidentified men in Lahore’s Dharampura area, police said.

The first information report (FIR), registered at Mustafabad Police Station, stated that the victim was travelling in a rickshaw when the accused dressed in a security guard’s uniform stopped her, citing a security check.

The suspect then took her to a secluded spot near the railway crossing, where she was assaulted and robbed.

According to the FIR, another suspect, approximately 26 years old, was also reportedly involved in the alleged crime. They also robbed the victim of Rs70,000 before fleeing the scene.

In another development in Karachi on Thursday, Judicial Magistrate (West) Inamullah Phulpoto handed down a collective sentence of a year and a half in prison to the headmaster of a government school for sexually harassing a female teacher.

He awarded six months imprisonment to the accused on each count and ordered him to pay a fine of Rs45,000 or undergo an additional three months’ imprisonment.
