Landlord ‘cut off’ donkey’s leg in Muzaffargarh for entering field

Landlord cut off donkey leg

MUZAFFARGARH: Another incident of brutality was reported in Jatoi Tehsil of Muzaffargarh where a cruel landlord abused and tortured a donkey by cutting off his two legs for entering into a field.

The animal entered the field in search of water where he became a victim of torture.

According to the station house office (SHO) of Jatoi police station, the local landlord used a hoe to amputate the donkey’s legs. The livestock department provided medical facilities to the injured donkey.

Police filed a case against the suspect on the donkey’s owner’s complaint. Later the police arrested the suspect.

It may be noted that animal cruelty cases are increasing day by day in Pakistan. In the last few months, there have been several cases reported where local landlords have tortured animals in little disputes.

Last month, an influential man in Rawalpindi chopped off the ears of a female donkey. The police said the man did physical violence against the pregnant donkey for entering his farms in the area of Rawat.

Moreover, a landlord based in Sindh’s Sanghar area amputated a female camel’s leg for similar reasons. The Sindh police apprehended five people for allegedly cutting the poor animal’s leg, while the camel was shifted to Karachi for treatment.
