LESCO reduces export rates for net metering customers

NEPRA clarifies rules for 1–25kW solar system users

LAHORE: The Lahore Electric Supply Company (LESCO) has reduced the export rate for net metering customers.

A new billing policy has been implemented for net metering customers in LESCO, in which the export rate for customers has been reduced by 66 paisa, after which the export rate per unit has been reduced from Rs 25.98 to Rs 25.32.

According to the LESCO notification, the new billing policy will be effective from the billing cycle of January 2026, and a ban will be imposed on export units in excess of the approved DG capacity, while additional export units will be limited in proportion to the DG capacity.

According to the notification, adjustment of export units will continue under CP 22, and the correct entry of export MDI should be mandatory for net metering customers.
