ISLAMABAD: The Islamabad Anti-Terrorism Court delivered its verdict in the digital terrorism case against state institutions on May 9 2023.
The court sentenced Adil Raja, Haider Mehdi, Wajahat Saeed Khan, Sabir Shakir, and Moeed Pirzada to two life sentences each.
The court also sentenced the accused to a total of 35 years in prison and a fine of Rs 1.5 million under other provisions.
The decision was given by ATC Judge Tahir Abbas Supra after hearing the reserved verdict.
In the Aabpara police station case, Sabir Shakir, Moeed Pirzada, and Syed Akbar Hussain were sentenced to life imprisonment, while in the Ramna police station case, Shaheen Sabahai, Haider Mehdi, and Wajahat S. Khan were sentenced.
The prosecution presented 24 witnesses, and the court completed the trial in the absence of the accused.
The prosecution was represented by Raja Naveed Hussain Kiani, while the court-appointed lawyer, Gulfam Ashraf Goraia Advocate, appeared on behalf of the accused.
