Case registered under anti-terrorism act over protest outside Adiala jail

PTI founder’s sisters question medical report, demand hospital shift

RAWALPINDI: A case has been registered at Saddar Bairuni Police Station over a sit-in held outside Adiala Jail. The case has been lodged under the provisions of the Anti-Terrorism Act.

Several prominent figures have been nominated in the FIR, including PTI founder’s sisters Aleema Khan and Uzma Khan, Noorain Niazi, Qasim Khan, Salman Akram Raja, Aliya Hamza, Naim Panjutha, and Tabish Farooq.

In total, 35 named individuals and around 400 unidentified persons have been accused. Religious leader Allama Raja Nasir Abbas has also been included in the case.

The FIR includes charges related to criminal conspiracy against the state under Section 120.

Fourteen of the nominated accused were presented before the Anti-Terrorism Court in Rawalpindi. The court approved a three-day physical remand and handed the accused over to the police for further investigation.
