LAHORE: Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz has undergone major surgery at Sharif Medical City Hospital, after which she has been shifted home from the hospital.
Punjab Senior Minister Marriyum Aurangzeb said in a statement on social media that Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz underwent major surgery at Sharif Medical City Hospital. However, she did not clarify what type of surgery Maryam Nawaz underwent or what illness caused the operation.
According to Marriyum Aurangzeb, the Punjab Chief Minister is in good health after the surgery and Alhamdulillah she has been shifted home from the hospital. She said that despite treatment, Maryam Nawaz did not neglect government affairs and continued to supervise administrative matters in the province even on Eid.

The senior provincial minister said that the Punjab Chief Minister directly supervised security, cleanliness and other administrative matters across the province during his stay in the hospital. On the occasion of Eid, special attention was paid to cleanliness in various cities of Punjab, timely removal of sacrificial animal waste and arrangements for public convenience.
Marriyum Aurangzeb said that Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz had issued instructions to the concerned authorities so that the public does not face any kind of trouble during the days of Eid. Provincial institutions, district administration and sanitation staff were directed to remain active so that a clean environment can be provided to the public.
According to sources, no further details regarding the health of the Punjab Chief Minister were released at the official level. However, after the statement of the senior minister, it has been clarified that Maryam Nawaz has been shifted home after surgery and her condition is satisfactory.
