Monsoon rains 2025: Over 100 killed nationwide monsoon-related incidents

ISLAMABAD: According to official figures, more than 111 people lost their lives during the monsoon rains that occurred from June 26 to July 14, according to an international news agency.

Most of the deaths were due to electric shock, with the highest number of deaths in Punjab.

Meanwhile, the Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) Punjab has reported that 44 people have died and 134 have been injured in monsoon-related incidents in the province so far this year.

According to a spokesperson for PDMA Punjab, the deaths in the province include 27 deaths due to collapse of dilapidated houses, 5 due to lightning strikes, 4 due to electric shocks and 8 due to drowning while bathing during the monsoon rains.
