ISLAMABAD: The Muharram ul-Haram moon has been sighted in Pakistan, and Ashura will be celebrated on July 6 in the entire country, announced the Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee.
Chairman Maulana Abdul Khabir Azad stated while addressing a presser after the committee’s meeting in Quetta that the month of Muharram will begin on Friday, June 27, and Ashura would be on Sunday, July 6.
Maulana Abdul Khabib Azad stated that moon-sighting regional committees also convened their meetings in Islamabad, Lahore, Karachi, and Peshawar. He stated that numerous reports verifying the sighting of the Muharram ul-Haram moon were received from various regions.
