LAHORE: Important news has come out for electricity consumers, LESCO has introduced a new package by reducing the price of smart meters.
According to the details, Lahore Electric Supply Company (LESCO) has reduced the price of modern AMI smart meters so that more consumers can benefit from this facility.
According to LESCO’s announcement, the price of a single-phase smart meter has now been set at Rs 11,665.
The company has also introduced a complete package for the convenience of consumers. This package will also include a service cable up to 10 meters along with the meter.
Thus, the total cost of the smart meter and cable combined will be about Rs 17,700.
LESCO officials say that if a consumer requires more than 10 meters of cable, then the charges for the additional cable will have to be paid separately.
CEO LESCO said that the price of the meters has been reduced through transparent tendering. The aim is to provide consumers with easy access to modern technology.
He said that the use of smart meters will help in controlling electricity theft. Along with this, human errors in reading will be eliminated and consumers will be able to get accurate bills.
