LESCO electricity bills payment policy changed

LESCO electricity bills payment

LESCO electricity bills payment system is changing from April 1, 2026. The Lahore Electric Supply Company has announced that consumers will no longer be able to pay their electricity bills at post offices.

The decision will apply to all customers under LESCO. Consumers have been advised to use alternative payment options to avoid problems.

Consumers must use banks and digital payment methods

LESCO officials said customers should now pay their bills through banks, mobile apps, QR codes, and other authorised payment channels.

According to the company, this step will help improve the billing system. It will also reduce delays and make the LESCO electricity bills payment process faster and easier.

The company believes modern payment methods will provide more convenience to consumers.

LESCO also updates net metering billing policy

LESCO has also made changes to its net metering billing policy. This decision was taken on the instructions of the Ministry of Energy.

The company reduced the export rate for net metering consumers by 66 paisas per unit.

After the change, the export rate has decreased from Rs 25.98 to Rs 25.32 per unit.

New net metering rates already implemented

LESCO confirmed that the new rates are effective from the January 2026 billing cycle.

The company also clarified that export units above the approved capacity will not be allowed. Extra exported units will be restricted according to the approved capacity limits.

Officials said these changes are part of efforts to improve transparency and efficiency in the electricity billing system.
