LAHORE: Punjab authorities have announced revised dates for reopening schools after the long summer vacation. Classes for classes 9 and 10, as well as O-Level, A-Level and Intermediate students, will resume from Monday, August 18, 2025.
Classes for classes 1 to 8 will return to school on September 1. The updated schedule applies to both government and private educational institutions.
Punjab Education Minister Rana Sikandar Hayat said the decision was taken after consulting education experts to ensure an efficient academic calendar.
The Punjab government had earlier extended the summer vacation for all government and private schools, with classes now resuming from September 1, instead of the previous date of August 14.
District education officials have been directed to adhere to the new schedule as the change comes amid severe weather, although its impact on the academic year or examinations is not yet clear.
