ISLAMABAD: The Pakistani hacker group has claimed to have successfully hacked the Indian website “Republic World“ as part of Pakistan’s counter-cyberattacks “Operation Salar“.
The group claimed to prove that they hacked into the Indian website and shared their evidence of the hack, which the Indian site also confirmed.
The hacker group commented that they targeted the site as part of their effort to carry out “revenge“ when it comes to the perceived injustices and clashes of cyber hate coming from India.
The hackers claimed that they accessed data and disrupted operations. “Republic World” website confirmed that they were hacked and that they were working to fix the issue and ramp up security on their website.
The news article published on the Indian website states that the attacks aimed to compromise login credentials and personnel data, prompting India to temporarily shut down some affected platforms for security assessments.
According to the Indian sources, Indian government acknowledged the claims but noted that an investigation is underway to verify the extent of the breach.
However, Indian sources claim that the Pakistani hackers were able to only hack the half of the website.
