Over 27,000 Pakistani deported from gulf countries

ISLAMABAD: The Director General of the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) has revealed that over 51,000 Pakistanis were offloaded from different countries this year.

The DG FIA told the National Assembly Standing Committee on Overseas Pakistanis and Human Rights that these Pakistanis have been deported from different countries for begging.

The DG FIA said that the highest number of 24,000 people were deported from Saudi Arabia, 6,000 from the United Arab Emirates, and 2,500 from Azerbaijan.

He said that those who tried to go to Europe in the name of Umrah were offloaded with evidence.

This year, 24,000 people went to Cambodia, out of which 12,000 did not return, and 2,500 out of 4,000 who went to Burma on tourist visas did not return.

DG FIA said that stopping illegal immigrants has brought Pakistan’s passport ranking down from 118 to 92.

In previous years, Pakistan was among the top 5 countries in terms of illegal immigrants, but now it has left the top five countries.

He said that last year, 8,000 people went to Europe illegally, while this year the number is 4,000. In total, 56,000 Pakistanis were deported by Saudi Arabia for begging.
