RAWALPINDI: The army’s media wing said that an officer and a soldier of the Pakistan Army were martyred in an improvised explosive device (IED) blast in Balochistan’s Harnai district, here on Thursday.
Security forces led by Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) Major Muhammad Haseeb were immediately mobilized to clear the area after receiving information about the presence of terrorists, who were planning to target innocent civilians in Harnai.
Our troops effectively located the terrorists’ hideout and killed three terrorists as a result. However, during the operation, an IED exploded on a prominent vehicle of the security forces, as a result of which Major Muhammad Haseeb, who was leading his troops from the front, along with Havaldar Noor Ahmed, fought bravely, made eternal sacrifice and embraced martyrdom.
Security forces of Pakistan, in step with the nation, remain determined to thwart attempts at sabotaging peace, stability and progress of Balochistan, and such sacrifices of our brave soldiers further strengthen our resolve.
