Pakistan army pays tribute to M. Sarwar Shaheed on his death anniversary

ISLAMABAD: The Pakistan Armed Forces marked the 77th martyrdom day of Captain Muhammad Sarwar Shaheed, the Nishan-e-Haider recipient, who is the highest decorated military honor.

“Captain Muhammad Sarwar Shaheed, the first-ever recipient of the Nishan-e-Haider, surrendered his life on 27 July 1948 in the First Kashmir War at Tilpatra (Azad Kashmir), inspiring his troops with unprecedented bravery, tactics, and unwavering dedication to duty. His ultimate sacrifice on the battlefield is a perpetual symbol of valour and patriotism,” the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) stated.

It further added that the Armed Forces of Pakistan respect his enduring legacy and salute his unmatched courage, which inspires generations of officers and troops alike. His life embodied the fundamental military ethos of duty, honour, and the ultimate sacrifice.

On this inspiring day, the country honors its brave son, whose valiant act of sacrifice formed a cornerstone of the Pakistan Armed Forces’ culture of sacrifice and martial spirit.

“The Armed Forces re-emphasise their unshakeable resolve to defend the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Pakistan, drawing strength from the noble tradition of martyrs like Captain Muhammad Sarwar Shaheed (Nishan-e-Haider).”
